I'm baaaack!

School has started up once again for me. I can't believe it's already the end of my first week of classes. Unlike last year, when they eased us into things gradually, holding our hands and making encouraging noises the whole time, this year has been a definate jump-in-at-the-deep-end-and-oh-watch-out-for-the-piranha-and-man-eating-leeches experience. I am behind. Again. Oh crap, this is gonna be a great few months, I can tell already.

Seriously though, I am still energized from my long summer of blissful nothingness and so I have been pretty motivated to keep up so far (though it's very hard to get back into the habit of sitting at a desk with my books, and don't even get me started on handwriting!). I'm a bit behind in anatomy, but otherwise I'm feeling pretty good and I think I just might be able to stick to a plan this semester. Of course, the second season of House is only days away from my doorstep, so that could very well not be the case.

It's sort of nice to be back in Victoria, inasmuchas I've got, y'know, all my STUFF here. And lord knows I like stuff. I'm missing Jon though, and I haven't seen any of my island pals yet (outside of meds of course), so it's kinda lonely. Also Moe is still in Vancouver (though I'm going to go get him this weekend) and so that spot between my feet at the end of the bed is always pitifully empty when I wake up. The weather out here is great, cool and sunny, and I'm getting lots of outdoor excercise (walking and running, no biking yet as my bike is still in Jasper with my parents...they'll bring it back next week).

Jasper, which is where I was for the last 8 days prior to class commencement, was amazing. I did a couple of easy bike-hikes and lots of running, swimming, kyaking, biking, and lying on the beach getting toasty. It was great to see my family again (though I didn't get to see Jamie, that jerk!), and we had some highly enjoyable times. Also I got long, comfy sweat at West Edmonton Mall (AND went on the waterslides there!), a definate highlight of the trip.

And so here I am on a Friday afternoon, waiting to finish up my lectures so I can catch a bus to Vancouver for the long weekend. This weekend will be one of the last relaxing ones this semester, but I figure I'm up for it!
